From Picnic to Peak
Parks are the places where Houston comes to life — spaces to play, gather, or simply breathe it all in. From rugged trails to quiet corners, each spot offers its own story.

- NENIKEKH / NANIKA-KIDPRICE PARK
Beyond the lakes that make it a paddler’s dream, Nenikëkh / Nanika-Kidprice Park offers rugged backcountry hikes for those ready to tackle the hills. Trails around Tableland Mountain and the Sibola Range wind through wildflower-studded meadows, dramatic ridgelines, and glaciated peaks. Whether climbing to panoramic views or spotting wildlife along the way, this is where the effort pays off. - STEELHEAD PARK
Steelhead Park is the heart of Houston, home to Canada’s Largest Fly Rod and plenty of room to roam. With walking trails, a dog run, flower gardens, and picnic spots, it’s the perfect place to stretch your legs—or your imagination. - NADINA PLACE PARK
This local park offers a swing set, picnic table, and mountain views worth sitting down for. Find it tucked off Nadina Place on Houston’s west side. - BY-MAC PARK
By-Mac Park delivers for riverside camping with a boat launch and a side of peace and quiet. Head 4 km west on Highway 16, turn left onto Morice River Road, then right onto Bymac Forest Service Road—look for the entrance on the left after 1 km. - NORTHWOOD PICNIC SITE
Need a breather? Pull over 5 km west of downtown Houston for river views, picnic tables, and a quick reset at Northwood Picnic Site. - JAMIE BAXTER PARK
An all-in-one spot. Jamie Baxter Park features an amphitheatre, skate park, BMX track, playground, and trails—all packed into one hub near West 14th Street. - FOUR SEASONS PARK
