Scenic Backroads: Houston to Granisle
Begin your journey in Houston and travel along scenic backroads that weave through serene lakes and small communities.
Route Highlights: Take Highway 16 west toward Telkwa, framed by the dramatic Telkwa Mountain Range. Stop at the Northwood Picnic Area on the Bulkley River or Irrigation Lake for a refreshing break or a quiet swim.
Tyhee Lake Provincial Park: Turn onto Telkwa High Road to visit this peaceful park nestled against the Telkwa Range. Along the way, spot replanted forests and the Woodmere Nursery, where the next generation of trees takes root.
Granisle Adventures: Continue along Babine Lake Road to Granisle, home to Lions Beach, Red Bluff Provincial Park, and the Fulton River Fisheries. During the salmon run, eagles, bears, and osprey gather at the Fulton River Spawning Channel. Nearby, explore the quiet charm of Topley Landing.
